MAPIC AWARD 2016: SUPERMARKET’S REFRIGERATION OF THE BEST MALL IN EUROPE IS BRANDED ARNEG

From 16 to 18 November 2016, in Cannes, has taken place the Mapic – the International Retail Property Market, the event awarding the best projects of the year in the world of retail property and shopping centres.

This year, the winner for the “Best New Shopping Center” award has been “Il Centro” in Arese (Milan - Italy), already known as the biggest shopping mall in Italy and one of the biggest in Europe. Located in the former venue of Alfa Romeo, once again the keyword is biosustainability, here meeting a unique style inspired by the multiple courtyard system of ancient Lombard farmsteads. The project is made by Design International for Finiper and it develops in 92,000 sq.m. and 250 commercial units: large, open, airy spaces with lots of transparent surfaces, bright spaces, lightness and natural materials, like wood and glass.

Also Arneg has used this kind of styling approach to create the refrigerant furnishing of the Iper Montebello supermarket, heart and soul of Il Centro. The personalization moves between innovative bespoke solutions, customised detail with top quality materials and special finishes, in line with the build philosophy. In line with the energy saving and sustainability concepts, the Iper supermarket in Arese is one of the first stores in Italy to have adopted cutting edge solutions that eliminate use of HFCs, using only carbon dioxide and reducing electricity consumption at the same time.
